Since 2007, Longines is extremely glad to count the tennis legend Andre Agassi among its Ambassadors of Elegance and to support the foundation he founded in 1994: The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education. The same year, the brand became the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the prestigious tournament of Roland-Garros, claimed by Andre Agassi in 1999.

To mark this anniversary, Longines launched an exclusive charity sale of ten Conquest Roland Garros chronographs, created by the Swiss watch brand as a tribute to the Parisian tournament. This timepiece displays touches of orange on the hands, the dial or the flange indexes subtly hint at the iconic clay of the French Open courts, while the case back is engraved with the logo of Roland Garros.

The customers were invited to receive their watch from Andre Agassi himself, during an exclusive reception held today in Paris, at the Longines boutique located at Rue de Sèvres. These timepieces were presented in a special case featuring The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education logo and signed by the former American player. All the benefits for the sale will be donated to his foundation, dedicated to transforming U.S. public education for underserved youth.

Andre Agassi and Longines

Andre Agassi is one of the greatest tennis players ever. Nicknamed "The Kid of Las Vegas", he has won all four Grand Slam singles titles, without mentioning his victories in Davis Cup, Masters Series, and an Olympic gold medal, a unique feat. His duels with Pete Sampras, his dominant rival in tennis in the 1990s, were memorable moments in sport and have left a trace on tennis’ history. Agassi's game was famous for its precision and its exceptional timing. He also had remarkable endurance and was extremely combative.  Agassi's unique style, his kindness and the emotion he transmitted while playing made him a great favorite with the public.  In 2006, the Las Vegas player ended a career of 21 years. The 36-year-old American has already won 60 singles titles. Agassi is married to Stefanie Graf since 2001. Since his retirement, Agassi devotes his time to his family (the couple has two children) and his charity work through the Foundation he created in 1994. Longines is extremely glad to count this tennis legend among its Ambassadors since 2007. The Swiss watch brand is also proud to support the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education and thus to take part in the charity activity of its Ambassador of Elegance.
