Monomoy Girl’s Longines Kentucky Oaks Victory celebrated at Churchill Downs
Swiss watchmaking brand Longines reprised its role as the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper, and Official Watch of the Longines Kentucky Oaks this year. Following an impressive victory in the Longines Kentucky Oaks race by Monomoy Girl ridden by Florent Geroux, Mr. Pascal Savoy, Brand Manager of Longines US, joined the winning filly’s owner, trainer, and jockey in the winner’s circle, honoring them with a presentation of Longines watches in front of the enthusiastic spectators.
As the fourth most attended flat race in the United States, the Longines Kentucky Oaks has become a spectacle of elegance and performance in its own right. The day of sport and style celebrated female empowerment on the track, from the powerful 3-year old fillies who ran for the prize, to the women on the pink carpet at Churchill Downs, who turned out in their best for a chance to win the Longines Prize for Elegance. The panel of judges, which included reigning Miss America Cara Mund, selected the most elegant contestant amongst more than 100 participants. The winner was awarded the Official Watch of the Longines Kentucky Oaks, a blue model from The Longines Master Collection.
