Aspen, CO (USA) / Saint-Imier (Switzerland), 18 March 2017 – Inaugurated in the 2012/2013 season, the Longines Rising Ski Stars prize crowns the athletes who have distinguished themselves as the best female skier (under 21) and the best male skier (under 23) in the FIS Alpine World Cup circuit. This year, the title went to Italia’s Marta Bassino and Norway’s Henrik Kristoffersen, who both scored the most points throughout the whole season. While this was the first time Bassino was awarded, Kristoffersen received the prize for the third consecutive time. Longines Ambassador of Elegance Aksel Lund Svindal took part in the prize giving ceremony, held after the Men’s giant slalom and Women’s slalom.
