Inspired by her innate elegance and natural charisma, Longines is delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed Hungarian model Barbara Palvin as its new Ambassador of Elegance. As casual as she is refined, as accessible as she is striking, Barbara has an undeniably refreshing take on elegance.

Born in Budapest, Hungary, Barbara Palvin was discovered by her manager, Balázs Méhész, when, still only 13 years old, she was walking with her mother in her home city. She got her first break in 2010 and has since walked for the world's most famous designers.

Barbara has appeared in the pages of the world’s leading fashion magazines including W Magazine, V Magazine, CR Fashion Book, i-D, Wonderland, Man About Town, Lui, Maxim, Grazia, and Antidote. She has also graced the covers of the global editions of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and others.

Sports Illustrated named Barbara its “Rookie of the Year” in 2016 and three years later, she became a Victoria’s Secret Angel. Models.com ranks her 14th on its much-talked-about Money List and Social List and she has distinguished herself with some of her profession’s most coveted awards. She was the Glamour Women of the Year winner in the Best Model category in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and she twice won the Fashion Awards, in 2011 and 2012. At the Elle Style Awards, she was honoured as International Model in 2021 and in the same year, was GQ’s Model of the Year in Spain.

Barbara has also been recognized for her philanthropic activities and has a particular interest in raising awareness of the need for water points and purification systems in the world’s water-scarce regions. When her busy schedule allows a bit of time off, Barbara travels home to Budapest to spend time with her family. She enjoys fishing and, as she spent much of her childhood in the countryside, she makes a point of staying close to nature. In contrast with her life on the most prestigious fashion runways in the world, Barbara is an avid reader and loves to cook, and is known among her friends and family as a lover of animals.

Alongside her modelling activities, Barbara has lately taken an interest in acting and has already appeared on the big screen in Herkules (2014), Tyger Tyger (2019), and most recently, the short film Serpentine in 2023.
